# Parsed reference set

The original source documents were downloaded and parsed for the dusts.org educational site on September 23, 2026. The project keeps the source-of-truth documents under `sources/raw/` (outside Astro's `public/` directory), while the public site publishes the resulting records in `src/data/source-records.json` and does not distribute the source PDFs.

The IARC Volume 100C package is stored at `sources/raw/iarc/`: the full `mono100C.pdf` monograph and the supplementary `mono-100C-TABLES.zip` archive containing 51 supplementary PDFs. The NIOSH and EPA source PDFs are stored in their respective `sources/raw/` folders. The download manifest and extraction metadata are in `src/data/source-manifest.json`.

Authoritative HTML snapshots are stored in `sources/raw/html/` and catalogued in `src/data/html-sources.json`. OSHA's wood-dust page remains a live link because its server returned HTTP 403 during automated retrieval.

## Parsed local records

- `src/data/source-records.json` — extracted, machine-readable claims from IARC's *Agents Classified by the IARC Monographs, Volumes 1–123* and EPA's *Particle Pollution and Health* factsheet.
- Each record retains the source ID, subject, field, extracted value, source text, extraction method, and review date.

## Primary pages used as live references

- OSHA, [Respirable crystalline silica standard](https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/regulations/standardnumber/1926/1926.1153)
- CDC/NIOSH, [Respiratory Health and Work](https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/respiratory/)
- IARC, [Agents Classified by the IARC Monographs](https://monographs.iarc.who.int/agents-classified-by-the-iarc)
- EPA, [Health and Environmental Effects of Particulate Matter](https://www.epa.gov/pm-pollution/health-and-environmental-effects-particulate-matter-pm)

The site is educational and does not infer that a dust is safe merely because it is not listed. Exposure risk depends on the material, particle size, concentration, duration, route, and controls.
