Grain sorghum dust

Respirable and total dust generated during grain-sorghum harvesting and handling.

Airborne form

Evidence

A NIOSH evaluation of grain-sorghum production measured respirable and total dust, endotoxins, histamine, and microorganisms. Total grain dust exceeded the NIOSH recommended exposure limit of 4 mg/m3 in six harvest areas, high airborne endotoxin levels were identified, and the authors concluded that potential worker overexposure existed.
