Airborne acidic aerosol associated with hydrogen bromide gas or hydrobromic-acid solutions.

The NIOSH Pocket Guide identifies inhalation, ingestion of solution, skin, and eye routes for hydrogen bromide and reports eye, skin, nose, and throat irritation, solution-related burns, and frostbite from liquid exposure; it sets a 3 ppm ceiling REL.
