Airborne particulate generated when marble or natural calcium-carbonate material is cut, ground, or otherwise disturbed.

Evidence

The NIOSH Pocket Guide identifies marble as calcium carbonate and lists inhalation, skin, and eye contact routes; it reports irritation of the eyes, skin, mucous membranes, and upper respiratory system, as well as cough, sneezing, nasal discharge, and tearing.
