The NIOSH Pocket Guide states that phosphorus pentachloride hydrolyzes in water or humid air to form hydrochloric and phosphoric acids, and lists inhalation, ingestion, skin, and eye contact routes with eye, skin, and respiratory irritation, bronchitis, and dermatitis; target organs are eyes, skin, and respiratory system.
