Evidence

In a NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation at a urea-fertilizer facility, inhalable and total dust concentrations sometimes exceeded relevant limits. Among 21 interviewed employees, throat irritation was reported by 47%, nose irritation and runny nose by 43% each, and eye irritation by 33%; the report also identified concurrent formaldehyde and ammonia exposures.
