Evidence

A NIOSH evaluation at a vitamin-manufacturing facility reported watery or itchy eyes, sneezing, runny or stuffy noses, skin rashes, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath among workers. The report says dust concentrations were highest in the composition area, where workers experienced eye, nose, and throat irritation and some developed occupational asthma confirmed by company physicians; the findings describe that evaluated facility, not all vitamin workplaces.
